A year into the global COVID-19 Pandemic, we are still striving to remind the world that cancer and other diseases have not disappeared. We have worked tirelessly to engage with our members, and collaborate with our medical advisory board. To continue this important work, we need your support. Planned gifts are a crucial source of support for the Life Raft Group. They allow you to plant seeds of support today to ensure the continuation of funding for GIST research, acceleration of new treatments and information and education of our patients tomorrow.

Advantages to making a planned gift to the LRG

Tax savings are one benefit, but more than that, you can help support a cause that is close to your heart. Many planned giving options are available that may be tailored to meet your financial needs today and in the future.

For those who choose to leave a legacy gift and notify the LRG, you will be acknowledged with membership in The Rafters Legacy Society. You will receive a certificate of appreciation, invitations to special LRG programs and events, and recognition in LRG materials and publications (unless a gift is given anonymously).

The LRG will also establish named legacy funds for those who wish to continue supporting specific LRG initiatives such as GIST research or education beyond the legacy gift. Two legacy funds currently support ongoing patient services and research in honor of Legacy Society members, Mike Matthews and Dr. Arnold Kwart.

If you would like more information on making a lasting gift to support the LRG’s mission, we’re here to help guide you through the process.
