Get involved and help us launch GIST Awareness Day! The LRG invites you to our full day of education and entertainment on July 13. The day will begin with a GIST Day of Learning educational seminar and transition to our GIST Awareness Day festivities in the afternoon. You may come to part or all of any of these events. Breakfast and lunch will be provided to GIST Day of Learning participants and all activities throughout the day are free of charge.

9:45 AM – 10:30 AM GIST Treatment Advancements, Dr. Bruce Brockstein, Director of the Kellogg Cancer Center at NorthShore University HealthSystem.

10:45 AM -11:30 AM “Managing Emotional and Relationship Changes after a GIST Diagnosis.” Dr. Erin Baurle, Post-Doctoral Fellow in Psycho-Oncology, Cancer Wellness Center.
11:30 AM – 12:30 PM Lunch, Roundtable Discussion with Panel of Experts
GIST Awareness Day: 1 PM- 4 PM
Families are invited to join the Life Raft Group for a day of FREE food, fun and learning as we raise awareness for GIST (Gastro Intestinal Stromal Tumors) cancer. Tasting tables from Chicago’s top bakeries and restaurants, arts and crafts, giveaways, live band and plenty of entertainment for the kids will make this a wonderful day for the whole family. Featured in the day will be the chance for you to contribute to our Guinness World Record attempt for the largest display of origami boats. Register below for free admission.
