NIH Pediatric & Wildtype Clinic’s ‘Virtual Tumor Board’ Hosted by the LRG

The LRG worked with the NIH to create a collaborative model to serve the needs of Pediatric & SDH patients, hosting a virtual tumor board on June 25th to replace the in-person Pediatric & Wildtype Clinic which the NIH holds annually.

The LRG and NIH Collaborate on Virtual Tumor Boards to Review Challenging Cases

In this issue of LRG Science, we highlight the power of collaboration in medicine with a recap of the Virtual Tumor Board co-hosted with the NIH. Due to the pandemic, The Life Raft Group was asked to organize a Virtual Tumor Board to assure that challenging cases were presented in order to help the patients and their treating physicians develop an effective treatment plan.

17th NIH Pediatric and Wildtype GIST Clinic Held

The 17th Pediatric and Wildtype GIST Clinic was held at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland on September 25-27, 2019. The Clinic was a collaboration amongst researchers, specialists, patient advocates, patients, and family members, with the goal of furthering the knowledge of SDH-deficient Gastrointestinal Stromal (GIST) tumors in order to develop more effective therapies.
