Liquid Biopsies

An interview with Philip Mack, PhD, Professor and Director of Molecular Pharmacology at the University of California Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center in Sacramento, provides insights into liquid biopsies, and their role as a noninvasive alternative to tissue biopsies in the future of diagnosis for advanced solid tumors.

Further information about liquid biopsies is highlighted in a case report that follows progression in a 55 year-old male sarcoma patient.

The issue highlights the value of collaboration between organizations with similar goals, and points towards exciting developments in both diagnosis and monitoring that may prove valuable in the future treatment of GIST and sarcoma patients.
