GIST Sarcoma LRG Canada LRGIST Sarcoma Life Raft Group Canada (LRGC) is pleased to invite you to register for the Toronto GIST Day of Learning & AGM event on Saturday, November 18, 2023. This event will b be held in Toronto at the Sheraton Four Points Hotel – Toronto Airport, 6257 Airport Road, Mississauga, ON.

A GIST Day of Learning is a free full-day event to provide support and education for those living with GIST. These events are open to GIST patients, caregivers, family members, friends, healthcare providers, and anyone who wishes to learn more about GIST. Our Annual General Meeting will take place over lunch at the event.

The Toronto GIST Day of Learning will include:
Educational sessions with Q&A
Roundtable discussions
The opportunity to meet with other in-person attendees as well as the speakers
Refreshments throughout the event

LRGC Annual General Meeting

Everyone attending the Toronto GIST Day of Learning is also welcome to attend the AGM portion of the meeting, although only Life Raft Group Canada members can participate in the voting procedures.

Dr. Albiruni Razak
Medical Oncology Lead in Sarcoma at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre & Mount Sinai Hospital

Dr Albiruni Abdul Razak is a clinician investigator based at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and Mount Sinai Hospital. Dr. Razak has been the principal investigator and co-investigator in more than 120 clinical trials and has published over 100 journal articles.

Emma B. Francis (BA, Psych)
Center Coordinator, Wellspring Cancer Support Foundation

Emma Francis is the Centre Coordinator of Wellspring Cancer Support Foundation’s Westerkirk House, located on the Sunnybrook Hospital campus. She holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Waterloo. Emma manages the daily operations for Westerkirk House and manages the national and local volunteer force who work at Westerkirk House and provide peer support to its members.

David Josephy, PhD

David has been involved with GIST for the past 25+years.

Hazel McLeod
Director, GIST Sarcoma Life Raft Group Canada
