Our Good News Holiday Campaign is the culmination of our year of “Time to Tell the Stories 2022.” In this series, we celebrate the connections, the celebrations, the events and milestones that we’ve been privileged to be a part of this year. Our 20th anniversary year is winding down and we are wrapping it up by spreading good news & gratitude throughout the season. Your financial donations and selfless volunteerism are what enable us to continue providing vital services to our GIST community.
Celebrating #GIST Research!
Our ultimate goal is to find a cure for GIST, but our immediate and present mission is to help patients survive and thrive until a cure is found. There are many ways in which we move research forward.
Our GIST Collaborative Tissue Bank provides tissue for researchers pursuing laboratory investigations and our recent tissue testing campaign expedited free testing for patients. Our LRG GIST Patient Registry provides data (de-identified) that identifies trends, and often leads to collaborative studies. We published five research studies this year alone.
Our Real World Evidence and Science Teams evaluate current research studies, inform our community of breakthroughs, and often reach out to researchers to initiate collaborative studies.
The LRG Medical Advisory Board and LRG Surveillance Group meet frequently to discuss studies, trends, and to conduct Virtual Tumor Boards, providing the oncology community with actionable information.
